New Saraland Hampton Inn & Suites fills top positions

A new Hampton Inn & Suites now under construction in Saraland is gaining momentum toward its October opening with the announcement of additions to its leadership team.

Larry D. Woodward has accepted the position of General Manager for the Saraland hotel, while Briana Browning was named Director of Sales. Both have extensive experience in the hotel and hospitality industries.

When complete, the $15 million Saraland hotel project will offer a dramatically new appearance for the Hampton brand and should employ up to 30 – both part- and full-time positions. The hotel will replace a previous Hampton Inn that closed in 2017.

Woodward and Browning are the first two employees hired for the Saraland property.

“It’s exciting to come on board as General Manager at this stage where I can see the day-to-day changes as construction continues and our opening date gets closer,” Woodward said. “We are looking forward to making our guests feel welcomed and exceeding their expectations when they stay with us.”

Woodward is looking to fill other key positions in coming weeks and hopes to have the entire staff in place by mid-September. Those interested in applying for positions as they become available can do so at MMI Hospitality Group.com and other job web sites such as Indeed.com. His team is recruiting the best customer service talent in the Mobile metropolitan area to work at the Saraland-based hotel property.

The new Hampton Inn & Suites in Saraland is set to be the first in the U.S. to feature the chain’s newest design. The new prototype, officially announced in May by Hilton Worldwide, is also the first in a decade for the franchise of more than 2,300 hotels.

The Saraland Hampton Inn & Suites will include 100 guest rooms and suites, plus 900 square feet of meeting space, which can accommodate up to 70 guests. A board room will also be available for meetings up to 14 people. Other amenities planned for the hotel include Hamptons complimentary On The House Hot Breakfast, an outdoor pool, fitness center, sundry shop, Wi-Fi and business center.

Guestrooms have been redesigned to accommodate how guests live, work and relax, with enlarged windows to increase natural light, warm color palettes and space-saving changes such as mounted TVs. Bathrooms also have been redesigned with improved lighting, decor and bath fixtures.

Hampton is part of Hilton Honors, the popular guest-loyalty program for Hilton’s 14 hotel brands.

The Saraland Hampton is located on 2.5 acres, part of the Infirmary Health System’s North Campus near the intersection of I-65 and Highway 158. Nearby, a new Cracker Barrel is now open and Publix-anchored shopping center is under construction.

Construction for the Saraland property remains on target with completion set for October 2018.

Hampton Inn & Suites is a brand of hotels trademarked by Hilton Worldwide. The Hampton hotel brand is a chain of moderately priced, upper midscale hotels. Hampton by Hilton is one of the largest hotel franchises in the U.S. The Hampton franchise includes more than 2,300 hotels throughout the world and in nearly 20 other countries.
