Meghan and Harry want nothing but the best for their firstborn and have spent months transforming their home

They have spent the past four weeks “nesting” at Frogmore Cottage, in the grounds of Windsor Castle in Berkshire, where they tied the knot last year watched by millions across the globe.

One of the reasons they were keen to move to the property, gifted to them by the Queen, was the privacy and freedom it would give their growing family.

So, as Harry and Meghan ready themselves for sleepless nights plus all the hopes and fears of every new parent, The Sun takes a look at their baby’s new Windsor life…

AFTER two years in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, Harry and Meghan have moved into Frogmore Cottage.

The Grade II listed property has had a £3million renovation to provide six en-suite bedrooms and more living space.

Plans included a sprung-floored yoga studio, green energy unit and an extensive security system.

The decor is the brainchild of Vicky Charles, who did the furnishings at Soho Farmhouse, the Cotswolds getaway Meghan is so fond of.

A keen cook, Meghan has started an organic vegetable and herb patch in the garden so, in time, she will be able to wean her tot with home-grown food.

Nursery

MEGHAN spent hours researching everything from the perfect paint to the ideal crib for the nursery.

She has opted for a minimalist, gender-free colour scheme of greys and neutrals, and sourced the vegan, chemical-free paint from German company Auro.

Baby Sussex will snooze in an eco-friendly cot, The Babyletto Hudson, costing £290. One of the gifts from her New York baby shower, it is made from eco-friendly, non-toxic materials.

Soundproofing has not been installed, so let’s hope Baby likes the roar of aeroplanes – as Frogmore is located near one of Heathrow’s busiest flight paths.

Tech

NO expense has been spared when it comes to gadgets for Baby Sussex.

The Duchess looked to her friends for advice, with tennis champ Serena Williams, who is mum to 18-month-old Alexis, recommending a £25k mood board, which displays soothing images, for the nursery.

The friend said: “Serena played a massive role in helping design it.”

Harry is said to have requested smart technology at Frogmore Cottage, so the couple can control things such as lighting and heating via mobile phones.

They have also been given an Owlet Smart Sock, which launched in the UK in January, costing £269.

It is worn by the baby to track heart rate and oxygen levels, giving parents peace of mind while their tot sleeps.

Wheels

OUT in the 35-acre grounds, it is thought Baby Sussex will be wheeled around in a trendy iCandy pushchair costing up to £1,500.

Here, Meghan has again opted against royal tradition. For generations, The Firm have used carriage prams from Silver Cross or Millson.

The iCandy is much loved by celebs including Victoria Beckham and Andy Murray, and Harry’s cousin Zara Tindall is an ambassador.

It is not known which version was delivered to Frogmore in early March, but the most expensive of the range is the £1,500 iCandy for Land Rover all-terrain buggy.

The couple were keen to raise their child away from the “fishbowl” of Kensington Palace and their new idyll will allow for much more freedom in taking their baby and two pet dogs out in the 4,800 acres of Windsor Great Park.

There, they can spot some of the 500 deer.

A touch of Serena

THE nursery at Frogmore Cottage, with its top-of-the-range crib and modern colour palette, is fit for a Prince or Princess.

Painted in subtle greys, and kitted out with all the latest gadgets, including an atmospheric “mood screen”, it could be lifted from the pages of an interior design magazine.

Meghan’s tennis champ pal Serena Williams, mum to 18-month-old Alexis, gave her advice.

A friend said: “Serena played a massive role in helping design it.”

And no expense has been spared for the royal tot’s new quarters.

Meghan and Harry’s home in the grounds of Windsor Castle, Berks, has had a £3million renovation, but it is the nursery that excited Meghan.

A close pal believes the newborn’s space alone has cost £150,000, which Meghan has paid.
