Hirshfield’s Roseville: Putting some color into life | Lillie Suburban Newspapers

Choosing the perfect color for a living room or kitchen that will not only match the decor, but tie the whole room together, can be a daunting task.

Thankfully, Hirshfield’s Roseville has the expertise to get the job done.

Not only is the paint and decor store family-run, but the company’s been in business for 125 years. Customers can be confident in the service they receive by having experienced team members help them choose the best color and style for any room.

The team at Hirshfield’s can help anyone select the best color, along with the best sheen and style. By bringing in a pillow sham, picture frame, or any other small detail from the room, Hirshfield’s can help narrow down colors that will bring everything together.

“Every color has undertones,” store manager Tedd Petrich explains. “Those are key to getting the right color for the right customer, for the right room.”

Along with undertones, the team takes lighting into consideration. How many windows the room has, which direction they face and how much sunlight enters through them, all gets factored into the paint selection.

While customers are able to receive help to pick the perfect color in-store, they now have the option to order online from home. Customers can come in and talk to any member of the team to help narrow down colors, and then take that advice home and order everything they need on the web. This way, customers are able to “order online and skip the line,” as Petrich puts it.

Customers can also enroll in the store’s Color Club rewards program, which tracks their purchases — never lose the name of that perfect paint again — and gives them discounts.

Hirshfield’s team members, of course, are up to speed on the ever-changing trends in home decor.

“You see people going darker on cabinets,” Petrich says. “You see black or espresso, almost like a coffee bean, tone.”

On a lighter note, he says people have also been going white-on-white, where the walls and cabinets are both painted white, but a few tones different. This is known as monochromatic or tone-on-tone.

Along with the new trends, the most exciting addition to the store might be the Farrow & Ball collection. Only a few stores sell the British line of paints here in the U.S.

Hirshfield’s Roseville is also a Hunter Douglas Window Fashions Gallery store, with an expansive selection of blinds, shades and fabrics. From custom draperies and valances, to Hunter Douglas motorized blinds and shades, Hirshfield’s can help.

With a strong team of employees, a majority with more than 20 years experience, and paint made locally in Minneapolis, it’s clear why Hirshfield’s has stayed on so long.

“We help it be less stressful for customers to pick a color.” Petrich says. “It’s important to make them feel welcome and at home.”
