GREGORY ALAN ISAKOV
He’s been traveling his whole life and now he has songs to tell the story of it. Come to hear what tales he has to tell through his music at The Pabst Theater. He and Haley Heynderickx will take the stage at 8 p.m. Tickets are available here.

It’s the first Thursday of the month, so it is free admission to the Milwaukee Art Museum. Come from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to enjoy all of their exhibits.

JAZZ IN THE PARK
It’s that time again in the summer to make Cathedral Square Park your hotspot on Thursday nights. Per usual, Jazz in the Park will bring you a night of wine, food trucks and soulful music. This time around you can catch The Jimmy’s at 6 p.m.

MILWAUKEE BOO-TLINE
Ghost stories aren’t just for campfires anymore, they’re also fun – and freaky – to hear on the water. Hence, Gothic Milwaukee and Milwaukee Boatline joined forces to create a Gothic Great Lakes Tour that takes place every Thursday night in August. REO SPEEDWAGON
The first night of Wisconsin State Fair you can stay until 7:30 p.m. to this first headliner. They will dive into their classic rock hits like “Can’t Fight this Feeling,” “Keep on Loving You,” “Take it on the Run” and more. Grab your tickets for this main stage show here.

HEARTTHROB THURSDAY
This summer is about to get hotter than the heatwave with heartthrob Thursdays at the Avalon Atmospheric Theater. The teenage heartthrobs of the ’80s and ’90s will be featured during this new movie night and will remind you how dreamy they are. All tickets down memory lane are only $5. This time around they will play 1987’s “The Lost Boys” at 9 p.m.

GIN BLOSSOMS
“New Miserable Experience” is their debut album and once again they are playing it in full. For one night only, you can be a part of this experience at Turner Hall Ballroom. It starts at 8 p.m. It’s not too late to grab tickets here.

See all the exhibits and have some fun at the Milwaukee Public Museum this Thursday. From 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., you can enjoy free admission. Be sure to embrace it.

SWING DANCING
Learn the jitterbug, the Charleston and the Lindy Hop at this half-hour lesson followed by the open dance at the Historic Pabst Brewery’s The Best Place, starting at 8:30 p.m.

Head to 88Nine Radio Milwaukee to see a live performance from Gosa, Gray and Noyes. They will amaze you with their traditional Irish music set. It all starts at 5 p.m.

OKTOBERFEST RELEASE PARTY
Milwaukee German Fest is over, but Third Space Brewing is ready to bring back the celebration of German culture with their new brew. Come on by from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. to enjoy their Oktoberfest brew. You can sip and/or buy it.

MUSICA DEL LAGO
Colectivo Coffee and the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at UW-Milwaukee will be continuing their summer Latin American music series this week with Clave y Afinque. Get a beer (or a coffee) and take a seat on the lakefront.

The Urban Island Beach Party at Lakeshore State Park is not your typical fundraiser. This time around the Artistic Director James Boland will be joining the squad and has chosen to help Father Figures member Fredrick James Dakin II, who I was hospitalized for two weeks due to a severe autoimmune disorder that led to kidney failure. Times Cinema is introducing this new movie series. Once a month, enjoy a classic, influential or overlooked science fiction film hand-picked by the theater’s crack team of sci-fi cinema enthusiasts. ARLO FEST
MobCraft Beer hosts the first annual Arlo Fest. It’s going to debut the “Mil-Town Milkshake” and be in honor of a young boy named Arlo who lost his hard-fought battle with cancer in 2018. This fest aims to give back to the people who cared for him so well in his time of need and support the battle against childhood cancer. Come drink brews and support a cause at 4 p.m.

FIRST FRIDAY SALSA SOCIAL

BLACK ARTS FEST
One of the Milwaukee summer festival season’s youngest events will return for 2019, as the second annual Black Arts Fest MKE will bring the party back to the Summerfest grounds on Aug. 3. With around 9,000 coming to last year’s debut and big-name headliner acts like MC Lyte, Bobby Rush and Tony! Toni! Tone! taking the stage, we look forward to what Black Arts Fest MKE will do for an encore.

OPEN PRACTICE SATURDAY
Marquette men’s basketball will host an open practice & scrimmage at the Al McGuire Center. You can check out the squad for an hour at noom. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., with the first 300 fans receiving Chick-fil-A sandwiches.

Y2K DANCE PARTY

THE GRAND OPENING OF NORTHSOUTH CLUB
NorthSouth Club reservations are now open, and the grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 3. Bars & Recreation, the parent company of AXE MKE, Nine Below and Splash Studio, will officially open NorthSouth Club at 230 E. Pittsburgh Ave. in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood on Aug. 3. 3RD ANNUAL WISCONSIN IPA FEST
The third installment of the annual Wisconsin IPA Fest returns next weekend to Third Space Brewing, 1505 W. St. Paul Ave. in the Menomonee Valley, and for the first time, it brings its own unique brew along with it. More than 50 Wisconsin breweries will present their India Pale Ales at the event, which takes place from noon until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, which is also a competition, as each participating brewery is allowed to send a judge to vote for favorites. Show of hands: Who’s in need of a good laugh these days? Alright, let’s tally this up, looks like … yep, literally everybody. Luckily, the Milwaukee Comedy Festival is coming back around for its annual visit, with performers ranging in experience and style – but all certain to hit your funny bone.

MILWAUKEE CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE
Bring some elegance to your summer fun with the 15th annual Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance, a classic car show featuring some of the most luxurious high-end motorcars throughout history on display for your enjoyment and probably a lot of jealousy.

OZAUKEE COUNTY FAIR
One of Wisconsin’s last free county fairs, opens for its 160th year this weekend. The fair features lumberjack shows, live music, a new bier garden, the popular demolition derbies, truck & tractor pulls, lots of animals and more. On Thursday, they also offer a FREE concert on the Center Stage by Nashville star Tyler Farr. On Sunday, the Fair will host the All-Star Monster Truck Tour, and offer driver meet & greets. It’s that time of year again – the Wisconsin State Fair! For ten days, enjoy some classic cream puffs, fried Oreos and other tasty treats by the winners of the Golden Spork Awards.
