A number of UK broadcasters have joined forces with Ofcom and the Royal National Institute of Blind People to launch a campaign aiming to raise awareness of Audio Described TV.
UKTV, BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Viacom are all taking part in the campaign which highlights the fact that audio description is available forĀ free on a number of channels and programmes, but many British viewers are unaware the service exists.
Each participating broadcaster has been tasked with creating a promotional trail to highlight the service.
By law, broadcasters have to ensure that at least 10 per cent of programming on channels has audio description.
