• The Rusty Pelican is one of the newer family-owned shops in downtown Gaylord. This unique and eclectic shop and also includes a tasting room! You can sample cheese, dips, spices and — of course — wine. The wines are hand-picked, handcrafted from several different wineries throughout Michigan and Florida. Tropical fruit wines from a winery in Florida that inspired the shop’s cute name and inspired the couple to start a business like this. Aub Marley’s is one of downtown Gaylord’s newest gems. This retro-chic furniture and decor shop is aesthetically pleasing in every way. The collection is unique and tightly edited, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Also, there is a dog, so you will not regret taking a peek.

That is quite a feat in our opinion. Oh, and there are shoes a beautiful, unusual selection of shoes something sorely missing in Gaylord. This boutique shows promise and is a significant indication of Gaylord’s growing palette.

White Birch Outfitters offers something for the whole family. Locally owned this great retails retail shop is perfect for anyone with a passion for the outdoors. From bike rentals to repairs from accessories to apparel, this shop is the ideal place to visit before connecting with one of the area’s favorite fresh-air pastimes.

The Old Spud Warehouse is one of the more unusual shopping experiences in Gaylord. The boutique lives in a circa 1900 former farmers co-op. The bones of the building have been maintained, with the slatted walls that promoted circulation to prevent rotting still intact. The metal walled engine repair room and the 12-foot high basement brimming with furniture. In this unique setting, the store offers the out-of-the-ordinary in a wide range of products from the best of furniture, lighting, home decor, and personal items along with the always surprising and unusual one-of-a-kind items.
