NBA Legend Scottie Pippen Lists Illinois Mansion for $1.899 Million

NBA icon Scottie Pippen has lowered the price of his Chicago-area mansion after it spent nearly three years on the market. The Los Angeles Times reports that the home is now listed for $1.899 million, which is significantly less than Pippen’s original $3.1 million asking price, and even lower than the $2.225 million that he and ex-wife Larsa Pippen paid for the property in 2004. The sprawling 10,000-square-foot home sits on 2.6 acres in the lakefront Chicago suburb of Highland Park, and boasts a number of enviable amenities.

Built in 2003, the home includes six bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, and plenty of extras including a home movie theater, a sauna, a game room, a brick wine cellar, and, most notably, a custom-built indoor basketball court with a graphic of Pippen’s Chicago Bulls jersey emblazoned on the floor. (Pippen played for the team from 1987 to 1998, during which time they won six championship titles.) The decor within the home is luxurious, if slightly dated, with crystal chandeliers, ornate rugs, and high tray ceilings providing an opulent feeling.

Just off the grand foyer is an impressive two-story living room with an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling glass windows framed by heavy curtains. A formal dining room, a gourmet kitchen, an office, and a wet bar fill out the rest of the ground floor, while the majority of the bedrooms are located on the second floor. Of the six bedrooms, two are master suites complete with spa bathrooms and custom walk-in closets. French doors along one wall of the family room open out onto the backyard, where there is a stone patio that steps down to an infinity-edge pool accessorized with a waterslide. A motor court and four-car garage are located at the front of the gated property.

In addition to the Highland Park home, Pippen also owns a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, property which has been on and off the market for several years. In 2016, the athlete even offered for buyers to purchase his 55-foot yacht along with the waterfront Venetian-style mansion, which also features a full-size basketball court.
