Ogden Food Truck Rally returns downtown
OGDEN — The food trucks are rumbling into Ogden, so your tummy doesn’t have to.
This month’s Ogden Food Truck Rally will take place Friday in downtown Ogden.
The April event will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday — during the monthly First Friday Art Stroll — at Ogden’s Union Station, 2501 Wall Ave.
The scheduled roster of food trucks this month will include Thai Curry Kitchen, World’s Best Corndogs, Lucky Slice Pizza, Rocky Mountain Burgers, Fry Me to the Moon SLC, Wasatch Roasting Company, and Zeppe’s Italian Ice.

Boutique features spring, Easter decor
OGDEN — The Simple Treasures Ladies Night Out boutique comes to The Junction this weekend.
The event includes more than 50 booths, filled with spring and Easter decor. Booths are open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at The Junction, 2550 Kiesel Ave.
The evening will also include demonstrations by Kitchen Kneads, Ye Olde Cupcake Shoppe, and Wood Creation, as well as more than 100 prize giveaways.

Jazz at the Station features WSU combos
OGDEN — Jazz combos from Weber State University will be featured at the monthly Jazz at the Station concert series in April.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Grand Lobby of Ogden’s Union Station, 2501 Wall Ave. Admission is free.
Three jazz combos will perform during the evening. The groups are student-led, but coached by WSU faculty members Dan Jonas and Courtney Isiah Smith.
The monthly concerts are sponsored by the Union Station Foundation and WSU Alumni Jazz, and are supported by grounds from RAMP and Ogden City Arts.
Children are welcome as long as they don’t disturb the performers or audience members. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as the concerts usually play to standing-room-only crowds.
Registration open for Fly with the Flock run
OGDEN — Registration is now being accepted for the Ogden Nature Center’s Fly with the Flock Fun Run & Pancake Breakfast.
The 5K/2.5K race and breakfast will take place May 11 on the trails at the nature center, 966 W. 12th St. A 100-foot kids’ dash will also be staged.
Early registration is $23 for adults and $14 for ages 12 and younger. After April 23, cost is $28 and $16. Those registering by April 22 are guaranteed a t-shirt and goodie bag.
A breakfast-only option is available for $8.
Proceeds from the event will benefit nature programs at the center.

Star Party planned at Antelope Island
ANTELOPE ISLAND — The Ogden Astronomical Society is hosting a public star party this weekend at Antelope Island State Park.
Solar viewing will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at White Rock Bay on the island. That will be followed by deep-space viewing after dark. Telescopes will be provided by members of the astronomical society and will focus on nebulae, star clusters, galaxies and other objects.
No reservations are required, but all flashlights must have red filters on them.

Skim the pond — or just watch — at Snowbasin
SNOWBASIN — As any good winter enthusiast can tell you: Water doesn’t have to be frozen to be fun.
Snowbasin’s annual Pond Skim is planned for this weekend at the resort, 3925 E. Snowbasin Road, in the mountains above Huntsville.
The Pond Skim is a yearly event to celebrate the coming of spring. Participants on skis or snowboards careen down a hill and attempt to skim as far as possible across a pond. No poles, kayaks or snow bikes are allowed.
Four judges will grade participants in the categories of style, air, crash and miscellaneous. The highest score will will a 2019-2020 season pass to Snowbasin.
Organizers describe this year’s pond as the longest Snowbasin has ever had, at 90 feet.
Spectators are admitted free. The cost to participate is $10, and costumes are required. All funds will be donated to a local nonprofit.
Check-in begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, followed by a participant meeting at 10:30 a.m. The Pond Skim begins at 11 a.m.
Following the Pond Skim, a deejay and dancing will be offered, with an awards ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on Earl’s Patio.
New at this year’s event will be a beer tent with Sierra Nevada beer. This is a cash-only tent, and identification is required.
