Home decor consignment shop in Oconomowoc looking for new owner

To spend more time with her family, Jean Niebler, owner of La Belle Legacy in Oconomowoc, is moving on.

Niebler announced the gift shop and home decor consignment store at 105 W. Wisconsin Ave. is up for sale.

“We’re hoping to find somebody to continue on,” Niebler said. “If that doesn’t happen, then we’ll probably close the store.”

All new store items at La Belle Legacy are now 25 percent off. All lamps, furniture, home decor accessories, and jewelry will be on sale. Many items are in limited quantities or one of a kind.

Niebler said she expected to depart La Belle Legacy by early summer. A teacher for more than 20 years, Niebler started the shop nearly eight years ago.

“I decided to begin a home consignment shop because I saw those were thriving in the area,” Niebler said. “I felt Oconomowoc could use more retail shops. There was nothing like that in Oconomowoc. I began the home decor consignment shop, and it grew into a gift shop carrying home decor and boutique items, as well as displaying creations from a variety of local artists in the area.”

Niebler said she enjoyed interacting with customers, setting up new displays and bringing in products for each seasonal holiday.

“I’m going to miss my customers and my daily interaction with all of the wonderful people in the Oconomowoc community,” Niebler said.

La Belle Legacy is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
