TUESDAY, APRIL 23
ROSECLIFF TREE WALK: Rosecliff mansion, 548 Bellevue Ave., Newport, 1-2 p.m. Tour led by Jeff Curtis, director of gardens and grounds for the Preservation Society of Newport County, and Newport’s Tree Warden Scott Wheeler.
NEWPORT’S HISTORIC LANDSCAPE SURVEYS: Newport Public Library, Program Room, 300 Spring St., Newport, 6 p.m. Tanya Kelley, founder and principal of PLACEstudio Landscape Design in Newport, discusses histories of significant landscapes throughout Newport as well as highlights of historic surveys recently completed for several Newport properties. LIGHTING OF THE TREES CELEBRATION AND ILLUMINATED TROLLEY TOURS: Elks Lodge, 141 Pelham St, Newport, 7-10 p.m. Light refreshments and a cash bar at the lodge. Trolley tours of Newport’s illuminated trees depart at 8:30 p.m., 8:45 p.m., 9:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tour tickets $15-$22.

SPRING SIDEWALK PARADE, TREE PATH OPENING AND HOPE TREE PLANTING: Florence Gray Center, 1 York St., Newport, 12:30 p.m.-3 p.m. Parade with costumes, music and dance past 20 decorated trees, ending at Miantonomi Park with celebration, picnic, performances, tree planting, touch-a-truck and tree path decorating.
SUNDAY, APRIL 28
TROLLEY TREE TOUR: Antone Academic Center, 56 Lawrence Ave., Newport, 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Christopher Fletcher of Bartlett Tree Experts leads city-wide tour of unique and specialty trees found in the various arboreta in Newport. Trolley departs at 10 a.m. Reserve tickets at eventbrite.com.
